Inside the Kreative Krew: What a Week Looks Like

The Kreative Krew Design School is the part of Kandi's Kreations that most first-time visitors do not know exists. They come for a wreath and find out there is a whole school behind it. This post is a plain description of what the Krew is and what a week inside it looks like, written for someone deciding whether it is for them.

What it is

An online design school for wreath making and front-door décor, taught by Kandi and a team of working designers. It grew out of the workshop: Kandi started designing in 2012, built a dedicated workshop with her husband in 2020, and has taught full time from it since. The school is where she teaches the technique behind her own designs, step by step, to members who want to build their own.

It is not a course you finish. It is a membership with new instruction every week and a library that grows as it goes.

What a week looks like

New live instruction. Every week there is at least one live session where an instructor builds a design on camera from start to finish, talking through every choice: why this base, why this greenery, why the focal piece sits where it does. Members build alongside or watch and build later. Every session is recorded and the replay goes into the library, so nothing is missed if you cannot be there live.

Live Q&A. Live sessions with Kandi and the team where members hold up what they are working on and ask why it came out the way it did. This is the part a pre-recorded tutorial cannot replace. A video shows you one finished design; it cannot tell you why yours looks different. A live designer can.

The vault. The full pre-recorded tutorial library, starting at wreath basics and bow making and running through holiday-specific designs, swags, arrangements and centerpieces. New members get immediate access to all of it.

The community. A private, encouraging space to post progress, ask questions and get feedback. It is built on encouragement and shared progress rather than comparison. It is also, practically, where members rehome supplies they bought and did not use.

Who teaches

Six working designers, each with her own specialty, so the instruction is not one person's taste repeated. Jennifer Moye of JAM Designs and Supplies teaches supply guidance and product knowledge. Heather Williams of Velvet and Vine Designs teaches practical, action-oriented design with guidance on supplies, pricing and Etsy keywords. Lauren Kilgore of Beautiful Mesh is the Krew's Etsy guide and runs monthly shop critiques. Dereka Danciu teaches wreath attachment design. Delia of KoeBrieKreations runs weekly sessions on approachable techniques. Kerry Greenfield of Wreaths Ever After teaches mantels and Christmas trees, with her bold approach to layering ribbon, florals and ornaments. Full bios are on the instructors page, and meet the Krew instructors goes through what each one covers.

What else is included

  • Etsy training and creative-business guidance, for the members who want it. Plenty of members build for their own home and gifts and simply skip it.
  • App, technical and shipping help.
  • Kandi's own tool and supply lists, including shipping boxes and sizes.
  • Exclusive member coupon codes.
  • 35% member savings at JAM Designs and Supplies.
  • The Krew retreats, hands-on weekends in Savannah taught by Kandi and the instructors. Details are on the retreats page.

Who it is for

The Krew page puts it as a list, and it is accurate: you feel stuck on what to make next, your wreaths do not look how you want, you are tired of wasting money on supplies that do not work, you want to feel confident in your designs, you have watched tutorials and still feel unsure, you want guidance rather than guesswork.

It is for beginners as much as experienced makers. The vault starts at the basics, and the community exists so that nobody has to work it out alone.

Start with the free course

If you are not sure, do not join yet. Take the free Intro to Wreath Making mini course first. It is the honest sample of how Kandi teaches, and the people who finish it and want more are the ones who come inside. Then read the Krew page, which answers every question members asked before joining. The related post single tutorial or membership: how to choose covers the other route in.

Frequently asked questions

What happens right after I join?

Immediate access to the full pre-recorded library and the private community, and the next live session is already on the calendar that week.

Do I have to be there live?

No. Every live session is recorded and the replay goes into the library. Members in other time zones watch on their own schedule.

Is it only for people who sell wreaths?

No. The Etsy and business coaching is there for those who want it and easy to skip for those who do not.

How much time does it take?

As much or as little as you have. One design a week keeps pace with the live sessions; the vault is there whenever you have an hour.

Put it into practice

The free intro course is the best first step.

Short beginner lessons under fifteen minutes each — greenery, structure and the mistakes everyone makes first. No card, no supply list.
